Shit MRAs / Anti-feminists Say

Paradigm Shift
14 min readJun 19, 2020

1. We don’t need feminism because women have the same legal rights as men, therefore sexism doesn’t exist, & neither does racism, because ethnic minorities have the same legal rights too — logic, people!

2. Men are more of a physical threat to women than vice versa. Better not treat them differently based on this though, otherwise I’ll shout: “Double standard!” at the top of my voice!

3. Sexism only affects men. Women are privileged & benefit from sexism; the same way racism benefits all those privileged black people; the same way ageism benefits all those privileged old people.

4. Women should be equal to men? What about men being equal to men? Feminism should be concerned with men’s issues, the same way the LGBT community should be concerned with heterosexual issues.

5. The gender wage gap has been debunked! The wage gap is a myth! We repeat this falsity countless times, in the hopes that you will never ask for a source. There are wage gaps based on race, height, weight, even drinking habits, but gender? Never. Why not only hire women if they pay them less? Obviously the gender wage gap can’t be due to prejudice, despite résumés being treated more favorably when they are titled with a male name than identical ones with a female name. Funniest of all this is when we do finally try to produce a source the only ones we can find, only have evidence that the wage gap is perhaps smaller than what some sources purport, but none can prove that the gender wage gap is a myth. We don’t fret though, we just pretend that a smaller gap = no gap. See, we win the debate, even when we lose.

6. Western women are the most privileged people on the planet! (said Western men) they have the privilege to be dependent on a man…just like all women, all over the world…& women from every time period…& slaves from every time period…

7. Many fathers find ways around paying child support (limiting it to a pittance, or not paying at all), & are neglectful parents to all of their children. This is an injustice against men somehow!

8. A grown woman giving a 15 year-old boy a bj is rape! Being intellectually dishonest is a prerequisite to belonging to the MRM.

9. Feminazi! — See how much quoting a neologism, coined by Rush Limbaugh, in a non-ironic way, helps my argument? Of course you don’t, you feminazi!

10. Women & girls get better grades & are more likely to graduate than their male counterparts. This has been true ever since girls have had the right to go to school. Poor little boys are being left behind! Let’s ignore the fact that being male is more important than grades when it comes to occupying the most influential & highest paid positions.

11. Women in other parts of the world have it much worse! There are no issues that need addressing in the West, since there will always be people worse off in the Third World. Now let’s talk about the problems of Western men!

12. Feminism is sexist. It isn’t for equality — the clue is in the name: FEMinism, just like GAY pride — duh. Be huMANists instead, or better yet: MEN’s rights slacktivists.

13. Domestic violence & sexual violence against women aren’t real issues, despite these accounting for the majority of female homicide victims.

14. Men make up the majority of the homeless & the wealthiest/most powerful. Men are the majority at the bottom AND the top. See how oppressed men are if we only focus on the ones at the bottom? Cherry picking DESTROYED your arguments, stupid feminists.

15. Let’s pretend that playground non-insults are the same as the plethora of genuine gendered slurs against women. Men are shamed more, with much more offensive gendered slurs, coined & popularized exclusively by feminists, whoever disagrees is a mangina whiteknight beta-cuck.

16. Even though the effect of the military draft does not extend beyond an inkblot, it is a huge injustice to men.

17. Even though rape is the most under-reported crime & over 90% of rapists never serve any time behind bars, I’m going to claim that the extremely rare occurrence of false rape allegations (0.6%) is an epidemic. And we’ll come out in support of any man accused & never of any female accuser (may make an exception if the woman is white & the man isn’t), because we’d prefer to accidentally support a man who is much more likely to be a rapist than a woman who is far less likely to be a liar.

18. Prenuptial agreements exist, but let’s keep bitching about alimony.

19. Men should have the right to abortion, because men get pregnant. Fuck you, biology.

20. Feminism is academically recognized. Outside Youtube, anti-feminists are dismissed as conspiracy nuts. This is a conspiracy!

21. 87% of homicide victims are male. 90.5% of homicides are committed by men. I blame feminism.

22. We cherry-pick stats on successful suicides in order to fool the world into thinking that suicide is a men’s issue. As usual, we ignore the greater context, which is that 3x the number of women attempt suicide; suicide is an extreme form of self-harm, which also predominantly affects women. Milder forms of self-harm, like cosmetic interventions (surgical & otherwise), also overwhelmingly affect women more, as well as other ways women tend to deliberately compromise the health & function of their own bodies in pursuit of aesthetic appeal. It comes from an overall attitude of not valuing the function that their body can perform for their own benefit. It’s this attitude that makes it easier to be self-destructive when women don’t view their own body as belonging to them, or being for them, or even being their self.
We’re ready to throw the guy who shot half his face off, in a failed suicide attempt, under the bus, as long as it means throwing women under the bus. We like to make a farce out of real issues.

23. Even though the Bechdel Test is merely meant to illustrate the underrepresentation of women & the over-representation of men in the majority of commercial movies, let’s forget that, & instead misapply it. In our opinion, for the Bechdel Test to be valid, it must measure the quality of an individual movie, otherwise it can be dismissed outright. Revealing sexist trends is unimportant.

24. Let me focus on niche groups to inflate rape victim numbers by including prison & military rape. I know that avoiding prison & the military will reduce a man’s odds of being raped to almost zero, & that for a woman to achieve the same odds she’d have to essentially avoid all human contact, (because most rape of women occurs in domestic situations by people they know) but issues that only affect niche groups of men should be more worthy of everyone’s attention than issues concerning large portions of the general female population.

25. “What if the genders were reversed?” Is the most intelligent response to distract from a women’s issue ever, because examining things in a vacuum & ignoring the greater cultural & historical context makes you look like you know what you are talking about.

26. Hypergamy — an admission that we are the dregs of society. Women “marry up” & we’re not “up” by anyone’s standards (including our own). But who needs women, eh? …We do (*cries).

27. MRAs are not sexists, we only appeal to, & congregate with bigots, because they are our only allies for some inexplicable reason.

28. MRAs aren’t obsessed with feminism, it’s just all we ever talk about. Unlike feminists, we can’t address the issues of oppressed groups like ethnic minorities & the LGBT community. If we did, we’d scare away our fan-base, because it primarily consists of bigots. And you can’t ask us to disassociate ourselves from them. They bulk up our numbers.

29. In a desperate attempt to silence you, for every women’s issue you raise, we will grasp at straws until we find a replacement men’s-issue that we can spam you with. It will either be an exaggerated form of a much lesser issue, &/or something so rare that the very existence of it is called into question. Alternatively, a straight-up lie will suffice.

30. Unlike feminists, we use statistics to back up our claims about how courts screw men over in custody battles. 91% of child custody decisions are reached outside court. Fathers are less likely to pursue sole custody, compared to mothers. Of the 1.5% of custody hearings that are resolved by trial, 44% of cases rule in the mother’s favour! Our unique definition of equality means fathers winning all the time, not mothers winning less than half the time! Mothers are awarded sole custody more often than fathers, without further evidence I can conclude that courts are biased against fathers. Non-sequiturs for the win!

31. We’re “liberals”, who dismiss concepts such as: feminism, women’s issues, political correctness, privilege, cultural appropriation, patriarchy, cultural imperialism, hegemony & any other academic terms sociologists throw at us. Social sciences aren’t real sciences (except economics). An ignoramus’ opinion is more valid & accurate than an academician’s knowledge. Education is indoctrination. Isn’t that right(wing), creationist homeboys?

32. Patriarchies don’t exist & never have existed. The world has been a matriarchy all along. Men are the oppressed group in all cultures since the beginning of time. I’m not a radical, no MRA is.

33. Any random woman, or perpetuated stereotype thereof, can be made into a feminist at my convenience. This exemplar can then be used to call attention to the supposed hypocrisy of feminism, by pretending that her contradictory beliefs in traditional values & progressive ones are held by feminism, purely on the basis that they are held by this hypothetical woman.

34. In the rare occurrence of a patriarchy actually existing, (where men are the privileged class & women belong to the oppressed one) rates of suicide, homicide, unemployment, & homelessness are still proportionally higher in the male population than the female one. Instead of concluding the obvious from this: that these statistics, in and of themselves, aren’t indicative of oppression — I will instead claim that even true patriarchies aren’t patriarchies at all. Men are the predominantly oppressed group, regardless of the presence, or absence of a literal patriarchy.

35. The concept of ‘male privilege’ really offends me, because I apply a colloquial definition to an academic term. In so doing, I grossly misinterpret the true meaning of the theory. Essentially, it postulates that all men are born rich & celebrate Christmas daily, instead of concluding that men may face prejudice based on a number of factors, none of which being gender however.

36. Even though the very definition of rape culture (which I don’t believe in) is the denial of widespread rape, victim blaming, sexual objectification & trivialization of rape, as an MRA, it is my duty to be a contributor to rape culture, by denying the existence of widespread rape, victim-blame, objectify & trivialize rape. You’re welcome.

37. The reason why women get shorter prison sentences is because they are far less likely to repeat offend. This repeatedly offends me! Back to prison (of the mind) I go.

38. Women live longer than men do these days, due to the fact that not as many of them die in childbirth as did in the past. Inequality!

39. Here is the dilemma:
In the past, under patriarchy, women did not have the same legal rights as men & men occupied all the most powerful positions. Today women share all the same legal rights with men, but men still occupy the most powerful positions. How do we explain this?

  • Anti-feminist/MRA: The patriarchy definitely doesn’t exist anymore, so I’ll take any explanation over one that concludes that the patriarchy still exists in the modern Western world.
  • Radical MRA: patriarchy never existed. Men have always been the predominantly oppressed group. (Trying desperately to ignore the implications of 1 group (men) occupying the majority of the most powerful positions)
  • Feminist: Wouldn’t this suggest that our society is at least still in a transitional period? It would appear that patriarchy is only half-defeated.

The following hypotheses were reached with the supposition that the patriarchy is dead in the modern Western world:

1. We live in a meritocracy, meaning men are born more capable in these fields than women.

Additional requirement for this conclusion includes:

a) Men’s chosen occupations are objectively more valuable than women’s, which is why they are more highly regarded & rewarded.

Or…

2. Men are born more interested in pursuing the top positions, women less so.This would necessitate the following conditions:
a) Men’s chosen occupations are objectively more valuable than women’s, which is why they are more highly regarded & rewarded.
b) Men & women are biologically driven (born) to make choices that result in men being in charge & in control of everything.
c) Women’s position in society, whether equal, or oppressed, makes no difference to men’s, which will always be the most powerful & lucrative ones.
d) Biological determinism is the primary contributor to career/lifestyle choices (& sex/gender is the primary contributor to biologically determined choices).
e) Social determinism is not a factor.

Unbiased conclusion (the one axiomatic in academia):

3. The patriarchy exercises pressure on its members in order to influence their behaviour. Both men & women are rewarded for their conformity, but the options men are encouraged to select (& women discouraged) come with additional benefits: more power, more money & thus more freedom than women.
a)Social determinism is the primary influence on career/lifestyle choices.

40. Some male characters are a power-fantasy for men, & almost all female characters are a sexual-fantasy for men, which in our eyes means men are poorly represented, & women are not. Let’s cherry pick all the negative male characters & not acknowledge the huge variety of both positive & negative male characters that exist. Don’t these feminists know that an exception is the same as an exemplar exemplifying a very common, sexist trend?/ OMG I can’t believe Anita missed that one, she must have been referring to the majority of cases, instead of the odd exception, what a fool.
a) “Men are fetishized too” — simply doing a Google Image search of the gender-neutral term: ‘sexy’, will visually represent the magnitude of that false equivalence. However, male superheroes are objectified, because they have huge muscles, unlike female superheroes, who typically have no muscles, no mask & an impractical hairstyle. Nothing must compromise her sex-appeal, not even her superhero status. Male superheroes were designed with muscles to appeal to the comic’s virtually non-existent female demographic.
b) Men in sitcoms are treated as bumbling oafs, not because that gets a cheap laugh, but because of man-hatred. Meanwhile female characters, in the majority of cases, aren’t permitted as many gags as most of their male counterparts. They have to be handled the same way child characters are: smart-alecky, nauseatingly perfect, & rarely the butt of the joke. Men will often play what is referred to in comedy as: “the funny man” while women take the part of: “the straight man”, (a supporting character). THE FUNNY MAN IS THE OPPRESSED MAN!
c) Media has no effect on anyone, despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary. Let’s all pretend that ‘commercial entertainment’ & ‘art’ are synonymous, so that we can use “self-expression” as an excuse to support unethical media practices. We spare children from sex & violence in media, because they are the only ones affected by it. Consumption of media will never have any effect on anyone’s mind, ever (except all children’s minds, everyone else’s minds are only affected by all advertising, nothing else). If media stopped perpetuating sexist stereotypes then it would be far too sophisticated for us to handle. Media supplies demand. Don’t anyone dare demand equality!

41. Feminism needs to control its radicals if it wants to be taken seriously. Radicals, like Anita Sarkeesian, who dare state the obvious fact that sexism exists in media. They are so much worse than radical Anti-feminists, like Marc Lépine, who shot 24 women to “fight feminism”.

42. People should stop getting offended. Why? Because it offends me. Irony is my thing. And trigger warnings trigger me. The only thing people are allowed to get offended by are discussions on the following concepts: women’s issues, privilege, political correctness, affirmative action, patriarchy, feminism, rape culture, misogyny, etc., etc., etc.

43. Women are often babied, infantilized, treated like children, instead of being treated like adults. Feminists have been trying to change this ever since Susan B. Anthony demanded to be arrested in the same manner that a man would be. But anytime a woman is babied in this way, no matter how patriarchal in nature the special treatment might be, we will invariably assign blame to the obvious culprit: feminism.

44. The CDC’s rape statistics are exaggerations, except with regards to female on male “rape”, which is a whopping 3.8%! The CDC labels female on male “rape”: ‘forced to penetrate’, because it’s only ‘rape’ when men do it, right? “Forced to penetrate” (which must be rarer than spontaneous combustion) should totally be called ‘rape’, because there’s no difference between being forced to penetrate a woman (hypothetically, since there are close to no accounts of this actually happening) & being actually, forcibly penetrated by a man, even though only the latter (whether it’s male on female, or male on male) has resulted in traumas, principle amongst which include: body memories & RTS.

45. Feminists hate men & want female supremacy — this accusation is literally over 100 years old, but we enjoy keeping archaic traditions alive. The accusation wasn’t valid in the past, but it is suddenly valid now. Feminism used to be respectable, but modern, third wave feminism distinguishes itself by being far too inclusive & sex-positive to have a favorable effect on society, while also being more scientifically grounded (with a wealth of scientific disciplines supporting it). Our generation isn’t mistaken, but passed generations were, even though we both misinterpret feminism in the exact same way, which has lead to us making the exact same assumptions.

46. The majority of the top scientists are male — still not a patriarchy. The majority of the top artists are male — still not a patriarchy. The majority of government officials are male — still not a patriarchy. The majority of CEOs are male — still not a patriarchy. Women are slightly more likely to be poverty-stricken than men & the majority of the richest people in the world are male — still not a patriarchy. The majority of land owned is owned by men — still not a patriarchy. The majority of cast & crew in almost all forms of media are male — still not a patriarchy. Just because men were the majority at the top in the past when women still lacked legal rights, does not mean that men still being the majority at the top today proves there’s any vestige of the patriarchy left in existence. If anything, these are all telltale signs that men are oppressed, or that the genders are equal. These deductions are far more plausible than the ridiculous notion that the patriarchy exists. But we all know that if women were the majority at the top we’d use this as evidence of a matriarchy. Stop blaming the patriarchy for everything. Don’t you know that feminism is the culprit of all our problems?

47. That’s an anti-feminist view, not the MRM’s. It’s easy to tell us apart. The difference between an anti-feminist & an MRA is that we use the exact same fallacious ”arguments”.

48. Quotas: blind auditions & anonymous résumés result in an increased yield of women hired. Turns out, women have the ability, but employers don’t hire them purely based on their sex. It’s almost as if combating misogyny was the whole reason quotas were implemented in the first place. But that can’t possibly be true. Quotas are just more evidence of female privilege & man-hatred.

49. Feminists incriminate themselves. Just wait for them to congregate, then, after they use reliable sources & share experiences that illustrate time & time again how much men hate women. It’s only a matter of time before one of them, in their frustration, responds with “I hate men”. That’s when you pounce with: “man-hater!”

50. The reason everyone hates MRAs is because, instead of just staying in our own section of the web, we spread to every part of the internet that has anything to do with feminism & women’s issues. We have nothing better to do with our lives than to tell everyone off for discussing women’s issues. We’re professional assholes, in a pathetic sort of way. We’ve been honing this technique to perfection for decades, the culmination of which has resulted in this elucidating list. The only thing we DESTROY in the process is our integrity & reputation. Not to mention the real life violence we inspire.

Paradigm Shift

Anti-ideology, pro-counterculture, because iconoclasms feel good
